"I have disassembled distributor up to the point of removing the 3/4" nut. This thing is on there! I am afraid if I put to much torque on the nut the rotor will break or turn. Any suggestions? A new one is 440.00. Please Help. I've heard of Kroil, which is a loosening agent, would that help?"

"Okay, well now I have done it

"Okay, well now I have done it! Need a new rotor now. Plus I still can't seem to get the nut off. Still need suggestions here please"

"Well hello again. Graham, Wi

"Well hello again. Graham, William at least if I ever have this problem again I'll no what not to do! I finally got the nut off. Just to let anyone know. If you ever have to take the rotor out of the assy. Use a 1/8th inch punch and place it in the groove just over rotor (there should be a slot there, at least there was on mine. Anyway whatever the manual says Don't do it! If you hold the rotor and try and remove the nut you will be buying a new one! Put the 1/8th punch in the groove and carefully turn drive ratchet to remove. Note my punch broke several times but had I used this method first I would be buying a punch 4.00 not a rotor and shaft assy 166.00 at CDI."

"patrick I have removed a bunc

"patrick I have removed a bunch of these nuts with no problems, holding the rotor with my hand wrapped in a rag so as not to get a solid jerk. sorry for the problem there are a lot of them parts available. I have one for 75$. sorry if I steered you wrong. William"

"I wasn't saying that to b

"I wasn't saying that to be ugly friend. Mine would have broke anyway. It was completely rusted. I guess it sat to long without lube. Anyway no big deal. I was just trying to let other folks know that the punch method works, as a better alternate if the shaft nut won't turn."
