1978 johnson 55 hp help me take off de gearcase

"how can i take off the gearcase for a johnson 55 hp 1978 outboard?, because i want to repair the water pump and i don't know if is necessary to take off the flywheel.

My problem is because i take off all the screws gearcase and the screw shift rod and the gearcase don`t fall down"

Remove the trim tab for the hi

There is absolutely no need to

There is absolutely no need to take off the flywheel ( do not know where you got that idea ). What may be the case here is that the driveshaft is rusted into the crankshaft spline.In this case you need to consult with a mechanic to help you.
