1978 Evinrude 2hp extension

Anyone who knows if extension kit for 4hp fit on 2hp models ? (73-78)
I see that 386011 supersedes to 394477 which is the section for 4hp engines.
Maybe the drive shaft is the same too ?

Drive shaft is different.

ok - do you know what's different ? Spline in top or length ? I see that the pinion on 2 hp and 4 hp is the same, so the spline in the bottom must be the same, as well as the shaft diameter as the input seal also is the same.

I have no clue what the answer to that is. But I would suspect spline and/or length as you already are thinking.
