1978 Bell Boy/175 OMC/Sterndrive

Having trouble figuring out how to get electronic shift out of gear,anyone know of this?

nothing electronic about the shifting on a 1978. Also no 175 OMC in 1978. (there was a 185 V8)
Maybe some more details or pics will get some help.
