Boat was acting like the prop

Boat was acting like the prop hub was spun but I had that checked out and that is not it. Once I hit about 2000 rpms it quits moving forward. I'm thinking clutch? Any other ideas before I tear it apart?

"sure sounds like prop...bad f gear and clutch dog will,usually,act like u r hitting a stump,but,if misadj,could easily just..slip,out of gear..try adj more to forward position on shift cable,and also,try another prop......"

"No bumps or grinding. I can put it in gear, put my foot against the prop and turn the motor. I'll look at the cable adj.
