1977 OMC Sterndrive 175hp

So I went out this weekend, and was out for about 20mins before my boat came to a great hault while wakeboarding, i finally figure out that a bearing on the driveshaft of the lower unit got destroyed somehow and jammed which caused the boat to come to a sudden stop. I figure I dont want to fix it since it will be very costly, and wondering if I can just find another used leg off the internet somewhere. And will any leg work? say a leg off a 140hp or 120hp boat or whatever, will it work and return my boat back to operating condition? if not what will happen if I'm on the lake with i guess a wrong sized leg on my boat? also if not, what should i be looking for as in a used leg? what horsepower of a leg (well boat, but most legs go by the horsepower of the boat), what years etc...?

the gear difference is different in the upper another 120 - 140 electric shift will work fine for you.

You do have a electric shift unit correct ?
