This was my brother-in-law's engine (Serial #4692738) that I inherited about 6 years ago. I haven't run it since. He always kept it in his house when not in use, and was a mechanical and meticulous guy. I have no idea of the running hours but he only used it occasionally. I'd like to sell it to someone who would put it to good use. Anyone one have an idea as to a fair asking price?

If it's clean and not frozen up, and if it was put away correctly (gas drained, fogged cylinders, etc.) then you could get 300 to 500 bucks for it. It MUST be running for the higher price, though.

Jeff

PS: Suggest you put it on Craigs List; free and effective. Insist on "local pickup".

Agree, 500 bucks if it will run.

This had Merc's Thunderbolt 4 ignition and most parts are still available (although no longer being made - lack of availability of ignition parts are often what turns a motor into a paperweight ) - shared 99% of it's parts with the model 110 (9.8 horse) so fair bit of aftermarket stuff out there (sierrra etc).

It's a viable motor that someone can get a good few years out of...

Thanx for comments. I know he always ran gas out of engine after each use. I owned a 23' bay boat so would think water pump impeller probably needs changing now. Don't have tank/fuel line to try to start. My belief is that it'd start right up. If I did figure out a way to start it and it does run what would be the fair price range then?
