1977 Merc 500 controls help

I just picked up this motor and I'm wondering what controls I can use on it.Or what years interchange. I found a nos wiring harness, I could mount switch on dash if needed. The boat it came off of had the white mercontrol, what I'd think is older than this motor, any help on what to look for would be great.

http://www.maxrules.com/oldmercs/Wiring/1966ona/500_76_78eL.jpg Here is a wiring diagram for your motor.Any control box that is compatible with the older merc can be adapted to work.The Merccontrol is the correct one,be it white with red decal or black with blue decal.
There are a few on ebay at the moment.A couple are NOS,very expensive
