1977 Johnson 55HP NO SPARK

Hello I'm new to the forum. Just need some advice. I have a 77 55HP Johnson. I'm getting fuel and compression but no spark. I have replaced both coil packs, power pack, spark plugs and wires, and the rectifier. I was told that the power packs are usually the cause but it could also be a stator or trigger. Now that I replaced the power pack I'm guessing it's one of the two. But before I go and keep throwing new parts and money into it I would like to get a straight answer. Your help is appreciated thank you

check the ground lead from power pack base to engine block, or add a temporary one.
these connections do fail internally outright and intermittently.
