1977 Johnson 25 not getting spark

I have this motor and am planning to put it on a 12 ft aluminum boat. Only one problem, no spark on either cylinder. when i hook up a battery it cranks no problem, it just wont spark or fire. I got an ohm reading of somewhere in the 550 range when i checked (Not too sure on what i was doing when i checked it, just did the 2 yellow wires like the guy on YouTube said.) and Im not sure how to check if the power pack is bad, which would be my guess. I don't know what to check otherwise, not too much on the manual i found, but it wasn't the specific one to that exact year and model motor, it was more of an overall manual from Johnson and Evinrude. the model number is: 25R77

Not everybody on You Tube knows what they are talking about. The three yellow wires are for charging the battery, have nothing to do with the spark.

The first thing you should do is try disconnecting the stop button and see if you get spark. (Disconnect the ground wire).

You can check the driver coil resistance with an ohm meter, but anything beyond that you pretty much need a DVA meter.

A sheared flywheel key is another possible culprit. It throws the sensor out of time.

How would i check the coils and Ive had people just recommend to replace the power pack anyway because sometimes its just a bad PP. Is that something I should do or should I wait?
