how do I remove plate below mo

how do I remove plate below motor on leg to check and tighten exhaust maniflod or replace gasket.
After running oil leaks(black oil) down leg just above tell tale water discharge ports. Looks as though exhaust is leaking.
 
"that is the power head gasket

"that is the power head gasket,and could be a lenghtly process.the plate you said ,i can only guess is the lower portion of cowling that the hood attches to .there should be ??4/5 1" bolts
2 in front 2/3 in rear,remove those and anythig else in the way and remove your 6 powerhead bolts to housing . dont forget the shift linkage/fuel lines/electic conn(big red plug)
pay close attn when installing gasket it will say no sealer needed/it only goes one way."

We are close but just below the main cover base is a plate on front of leg held by 4 screws and another section of cover on back of leg, just below cowling, I can see 6 bolts going in from under motor, one bolt is under cyclinder 4 head and very hard to get to. Seems like motor needs to be lifted off to enable this to happen."
 
you might try tilting /turning

you might try tilting /turning left /right
for more acess i know that a couple will be diffacult.careful not to break or strip any
