" I have had a problem with my outboard motor. I can start it up and it runs fine, in gear out of gear idles. all that is great, i replaced the sparkplugs. But when i let it run and get to operatinge temperature and shut it off and try to restart it the cylinders get flooded where i have to take out the plugs and dry the cylinders out. I took off all the carburaturs and they all looked in good shape, with the floats and needle valve's working properly, what could be causing this problem? "

Do a compression test and check to make sure that you have a spark that will jump a 7/16" gap on each cylinder.If the floats and float valves are OK I do not think that you have a fuel problem.

" The Spark plugs were getting a good spark. It seems as though after the engine shuts off, fuel is still flowing into the engine. I will do a compression check in about 2 days when i can get back to it. "

" I have the same motor and the same problem. I think it is a faulty coil in my case... but, I can not find the coil for that year. It si not on the parts charts?!?!? I would really like to get a parts list for this motor.
