1977 6HP impeller replacement

Hello,

I have a 1977 6HP Johnson and I need to replace the impeller, and I need some detail instructions, I have the manual but I need more inputs that can help me with my project, this the first time I work in the motor.Thank you in advance

No plate on that model !!!!!!---It sure has a thermostat too !!!----take out the four screws that hold the lower unit to the exhaust housing.---------You will need to turn the flywheel slowly to get the lower unit to come down a bit.----------Then you will see the shift connecter at the joint.-----Completely take out one screw there and the lower unit should come off.
