"Just purchased a 1977, 55HP Evinrude with correct controls. Mounted it to a stand, hooked everything up (including a flush kit) and it fired right up. I noticed that there was no water coming from the exhaust relieve ports. I assume there should be water spraying out of them? I did purchase the service manual for this engine but it does not mention anything about it. I suspect it needing a new water pump. Thanks for any information anyone can provide."
