1977 55 HP Evinrude

Hello all, I just picked up a non running 77 Rude 55 HP Model 55773D.
Can someone tell me what type of shift this has? Electrical, mechanical,etc?
Currently the Power Pilot control lever will not go into reverse. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
 
1977 55hp Evinrude ahs mechanical shift.... uses HiVis 80/90 gearlube.

When not running, spin propeller in order to shift. Spinning the propeller allows the shifter dog and gear lobes to align.
 
Thanks guys for the input. I realized it was mechanical after I got into it. The reason it woudnt go in too reverse is because the control arm had been pushed too far forward and slipped a tooth on the nylon cog in the control box. Also the reason it would not turn over since the neutral switch was not engaged as well. Cranks good now but still wont start but did fire with a squirt of starting fluid in the cylinders. Now to tear down the carbs. Thanks for your help guys. I may be back for more.........LOL
 
Well I got her running after cleaning the carbs. It runs kind of rough at idle so I will change the plugs. Does any one know the RPM at idle? Something is still binding some where because it continues to slip a cog in the control box when you push the control arm to WOT. Any thoughts?
