"took carbs off again and i think i have some of my problems fixed,now it idles at a decent rpm and i throttle up it responds and then decels ok,still has miss at idle.with the muffs on i put it in gear and accelerate and then decel put it back in neutral and it takes a while to idle down.i did notice fuel coming out of the front of the carb and dripping down a steady stream,float too high?idles like it has a miss.THANKS FOR ANY HELP.what would be the float height adjustment?"

Running the engine on the muffs is really not a good indication of how it will run in the water.

The slow decel may be your timing plate being a little sticky."

By the time you figured a way to shut it down, if that's possible, connecting rods would be flying out the sides of the crankcase.

With the carburetor body held upside down, the float being viewed from the side, adjust the float so that the free end of the float (the end opposite the hinge pin) is ever so slightly higher (just ever so slightly off level) than the other end. And when viewed from the end, make sure it is not cocked.
