"Hey people, I've been learning a lot from this site by reading other posts. Now I have a question myself. After doing a de-carb on my '77 140 it seems to be smoking(blue) much more than before. There seems to be an awful lot of oil on the l77JC4 plugs, also. I haven't run it very hard since the de-carb on the water. Could it be that I just need to do this? The motor runs smoother and has plenty of power. It runs at about 5100rpm at full throttle and it is on an 18' Invader ski boat(1986) with a 13.25x19 prop. Thanks in advance for any assistance."

"jwb, I took the boat out today and ran at WOT for several minutes. I then installed the QL77JC4 plugs and tried it again. Now I can turn the idle speed down to spec. without stalling and I gained 200 rpm at WOT(5300). Thanks for the guidance."
