Hi folks , new member here looking for any help if possible . I have a 1976 johnson 70 hp 3 cyl looper with a tilt and trim set-up. The tilt and trim set-up is a showi? i believe and I am trying to get it operational. Was wondering if anyone knows the function of the trim cyl internals as i have found a diagram that shows a bobin setup inside, and i was wondering what function it plays? I know the sending unit screws into that cyl, but I do not have a trim gage on the boat , just a tilt up or down switch . my question to you fine folks is , do i need the sending unit set-up at all if I dont have a trim gage , and in that sense I should'nt need the bobin set-up either right? Reason for asking is bobin set-up is pricey and if not needed , all the better ! Any help is greatly appreciated!!!!!! Thank - you for your time !!!!
