1976 Mercury 650 Thunderbolt Wiring harness plug?

Hello,

New here, and new to outboard motors.

I have a 1976 65 HP 3 Cylinder that I need a wiring harness for. It is from the the control box to the engine. I have scanned the internet but can't find one. I tried to attach photos of what I have and the a wiring diagram that it's supposed to look like but it didn't work? Problem is one of the connectors is different from the wiring diagram to what I have? Any input would be appreciated!
 
Thanks. I did that on numerous parts sites and I get the same thing... "Invalid Serial #"
I type it exactly how it's stamped. 4385384.

I had the same problem but there are ways around that if you are persistent in your search. Give me a few hours and I'll get back to you with some answers.
 
68bucks- Checked with the host and a few others and found none of them carry the wiring harness for your motor. I found a picture of one (I think) so you can take a peek to see what is different or same. My inclination is to call our forum host and ask them what to do next or call CDI and find out if they have one for you. as follows the CDI contact info and the picture: http://www.cdielectronics.com/

Thanks Fuddyduddy! That looks like whats on my engine. I will make some calls to try to find the the correct harness and plug. Thank again!
 
68bucks- There are places that rebuild them so keep it in mind if no one has new ones. I sent you a PM so read it and good luck.-FD
