1976 Evinrude

I have a 1976 Evinrude 9.9 hp Md 10624G S#E0004450. It runs good but I heard you can put a 15hp carb and maybe a different prop for more power and speed. Can anyone help with this? Is it true? What parts and where do I get them? Thanks, John

Check it out because I'm not certain, but I think the 15 also has a different cylinder head for higher compression. Anyhoo, since the 15 has more horsepower, the same prop will usually work (on same boat, assuming it was correct on the 9.9). More hp, same prop, same load = more RPM (15hp is developed at higher RPM).
