"Greetings, I have a 1976 Evenrude 70HP that I have only had out a few times. Yesterday I was on the lake pulling the kids on their wakeboards and everything was fine. We stopped for probably ten minutes with the engine off at one point and when I restarted I had to apply choke. When I tried to accelerate it came off idle, got to about 2,000 rpms and died. this continued until I started out across the lake at about 2,000rpms without pulling anyone for several hundred yards slowly increasing the throttle then it finally picked up and ran normally again. we continued to pull the kids for another half hour then it started to do the same thing. again slowly advancing the throttle without pulling anyone and it finally took off again and seemed normal. Any thought as to what may be causing this?"
