"I just purchased a 17foot lowe jon boat with a 1967 Johnson 60vro. Well the cover says 60VRO but the model# is 70673d. First, is this a good motor? I didnt realize it was that old when i bought it and could someone have just changed the cover somewhere along the way. It seems to run great. THanks"

"u dont have a 1967---VRO...i can assure you..it appears,u have a 73,,,but,i'm thinking...if its a 73......it should be a 65...i think,someone,has replaced the cowling....if yours is an elect shift lower unit,...it would be,a 72 or earlier i believe...74,was a 70 hp mech g-case,....and.......up"

Sounds like it definately picked up a replacement hood along the line somewhere..."

So I have a 67 Evinrude 70? The age scares me but it runs good. Is this a good motor? Can you find parts for it?
