1976 70 HP Johnson 70EL76D fuel pump problems HELP!!

I have the fuel pump hooked up wrong? Black plastic fitting with the screen has the gas going in. The pulse line from the block ( behind the bottom carb ) I have tried both the remaining ports and nothing wont pump gas! The pump is mounted on a bracket but doesn't seem to have a port on it for pulses that would match up to the small round hole on the underside of the pump IF NEEDED? HELP!!!

That pump needs 3 hoses.----There is no hole on the back for pulse.-----The brass fitting is fuel out.------So blow into the filter cover.-----The brass fitting is likely the one that air comes out.-----The fitting on the other side will then be the pulse port.----There is no hole on the back of this simple pump!
