"So I recently got donated a 9.9 Johnson Seahorse outboard. Apparently it hasn't been run in about 3 years. I made a stand and put the leg in a garbage bin full of water, and tried to start it. Unfortionately it wouldn't start... While looking over the engine, I noticed the upper coils spark plug wire had been pulled out... so I guess its time for a new coil.... but secondly, I noticed that the 'stop' button wires went to no where!!

I have two wires coming off the button, and one has a connector end, and the other looks like its been ripped out of something. Can anyone tell me where these connect to?? I can't see anywhere where it could connect up to!"

"Push button kill switch.... o

"Push button kill switch.... one wire connects to the top coil primary circuit (wire), the other wire connects to the other coil primary circuit (wire).

The spark plug wires screw into the secondary coil circuit holes. Look into that hole... you'll see a semi threaded prong in there.

When you have compression and spark, I think you'll find that the carburetor is also fouled from sitting. In which case,it will require removing, cleaning, anf rebuilding with a complete carburetor kit."
