1975 Johnson 70 HP telltale

I have a 1975 johnson 70hp. I got this for free and have been fixing it up. I want to install a telltale on it but can’t find much on this motor. It is a 70ESL75B model. I’m trying to figure out the best way to install a telltale on it. I’m also wondering if the copper inlet tube is supposed to have a hole in the side of it. Mine has one in the side that looks like it has been drilled in.

I just replaced the impeller. I also have a lower end seal kit that I plan to put on. How would I test the overheat horn? And does anyone know if the copper water inlet tube is supposed to have a hole in it?
 
Many of those tubes have a hole drilled in them.-----Exhaust gasses must be cooled.-----------Find the tan wire at the cylinder head.-----Slide the rubber boot off the metal connecter.-----Turn key to --" on " and touch connecter to a head bolt.----Horn should sound.
