Hello all, I have a pic here of the lower unit, there are three holes I've pointed out could someone please tell me what these holes are for. The one marked with the blue arrow is weeping oil. I'm getting water in the foot I suspect it is coming in from that hole. Thanks for any help.

They are just drain holes. Oil is not likely what is coming out, but exhaust/carbon from the system, quite normal.
Most common place for leakage INTO the gearcase is the seal below the water pump, but you even have the gaskets on the fill/drain plugs, prop-shaft and shift rod as well.

No,,It is leaking gear oil from that hole...I'm sure of it. I just put fresh oil in the foot and it is definitely leaking from that hole

Well then pressure test or have a local shop pressure test the lower unit to look for bad seals.------------Those holes are casting cavity drains and they often have oil leaking from them ( exhaust oil )---------have often seen those holes plugged with RTV by panicky owners.

Those holes are NOT connected to the gearcase in any way,Did you wipe the oil off with your finger and smell it? It probably smells of gas and is excess unburnt fuel

OK for you guys that just will not believe that it is gear oil leaking from that hole here's another pic this was taken after a couple of hours at the lake...

Thats a nice pic! Mine looks the same after running awhile,But just drop the lower and inspect,Pressure test.It will give you your answer!
You state we are the unblievers that its gearcase oil.Your correct, take it apart show us! If it is really the gearcase leaking IT NEEDS FIXED.Personally I just wipe mine clean,Because I know what it is.
Its not nice to ask a question get a answer and then say we are wrong. Why ask if you know already?

Agreed , you know what is leaking !!--------Pressure test to look for the leak-----------------Should be simple to fix this will a seal kit.---------------Must be the shift rod o-ring leaking since you insist it is " gear oil "
