1975 johnson 135 hp lower unit removal help

Hey all, great site. The shift bracket under the bottom carb has what appears to be a pin attaching the bracket to the shift rod. Everything I have read so far talks about a bolt that needs to be removed to allow the lower unit to drop out. Newbie and probably missing something simple here so apologies in advance.

Disconnect shift cable from engine linkage.
Remove the 3/8" hex nut from the end of the shift linkage that leads to the shift rod.
Remove the 3/4" bolt that secures that long shift linkage, then remove the two linkage arms.
That releases the shift rod.

Be sure that the nylon bushing in the top barrel portion of the shift rod does not get lost as it is a critical part. If missing, that allows too much play in the linkage resulting in having the shift adjusted to be impossible.

Thanks so much for the prompt and helpful advice. I need to get a OMC manuel soon. Although most of the questions have been asked and answered many times, you fellows always help out without making rooks like me feel stupid. Thanks again! Bill
