hi all i just picked up a boat

hi all i just picked up a boat it has a 1975 evinrude 50hp that is not running i know knothing about them but was wandering if anyone could point me in the right direction on where to start and if i cant get it runnin is it worth anything thanks

start with spark and compressi

start with spark and compression testing if ok make sur your fuel sys. is in good order then try and run if you have no spk or compression you could run your battery dead trying to start it
