In a hurry to go fishing and ran over a rock. Moral: Go to work instead!

Anyhow,its done and I have replaced the prop, but the ride guide steering is only good for circles! The shaft going thru the o/b mount bracket appears bent. I straightened the tie rod. Can the cable end rod be straightened? or is there a cheap 'n cheerful remedy?
Ride guide are no longer I believe?
Any advice to get fishing appreciated!"

"What is the most reliable /functional, rotary or Rack and pinion? Rotary seems,theoretically, to be prone to issues because it is pulling/pushing around a curve? Right or wrong.
