"The impeller is bad in my mot

"The impeller is bad in my motor. I removed the 4 bolts that hold the lower unit on, removed the screw that attaches the shift lever to the lower unit, and pulled the unit off.

Then I noticed there was a small hole about 2 inches down from the top of the shaft. In that hole there were parts of what looks like a pin. My question: Do I have to remove the power head to re-install the shaft/lower unit once the impeller and pin is replaced?"

"jwbmarine.Thanks for your response and the diagram. The pin is #8 in the diagram. All of the othjer parts, #1 thru #6, stayed in the upper unit when the foot came off. Can I just replace the impeller and pin and pust it all back up through those other parts, or do I have to remove the power head ?"
