I have a 1973 65 HP Johnson PowerShifter II Model # J3844599 and Serial # 65ESL73R It has a red plug power cable, unfortunately the wires were cut from the boat. I have been trying to find a wire color match to identify what each wire does and explain to me which wires need to be hooked to switches to test the motor. I have been looking for a cable with colors matching mine but I have not found anything close to mine. The colors are purple, purple with a white stripe, black, black with a yellow stripe, red with a purple stripe, white, grey, and a tan. Can anyone identify what each wire is used for and how to make a motor testing cable.
