I have an old mercury 9.8 model 110, made in 1973 or so (according to the serial number lookup). It will run for about 10-15 seconds and then die. I can keep it going if I squeeze the bulb aggressively. I have fresh fuel with the right mix, tried different tanks, bulbs and fuel hose, and changed the elevation of the tank. i have replaced the fuel lines, replaced gaskets and diaphragm in the fuel pump, and cleaned the carb and replaced that gasket. When it is running it sounds great. Spark plugs are fine. Any ideas? I feel like it it will be something simple that I am over looking. And it never has idled very well. The motor should be good, not a lot of hours on it. please help!
