I have an 85hp chrysler that is charging my battery at 16.5v when I'm at higher Rpms. Now i know the manual says this is normal due to the Motorola regulator/rectifier. When I slow down it takes a while to come back down and I'm wondering if the regulator is shot?
Question - can I add an aftermarket regulator/rectifier that will keep it charging at around 14.5volts at WOT?
If so I would greatly appreciate some suggestions on where to find a compatible unit to install so I can run comfortably knowing my battery isn't getting overcharged.
