I have an old Johnson 9.5 that was stored in a barn and became home for a family of mice. Ungrateful little bastards gnawed all the wiring up. Bought a new short/kill harness but there are 4 wires protruding from a washer with a small hex head fastener. Appears to be a ground. I would be very grateful If someone could tell me where these hook up. Photo won't upload for some reason. Thanks in advance, Ron

I understand the mouse problem and the related wiring destruction... a common problem BUT, your mention of the [short/kill harness but there are 4 wires protruding from a washer with a small hex head fastener] escapes me completely... no idea what you are speaking of.

You can upload pictures to a site by the name or "Photobucket" then copy/paste them wherever you please, including this site, OR rest your cursor on the center icon in the right column above (when replying) whereas it will bring up a message stating "Insert Image" and go that route... neither procedure is complex.

Willing to help but need a better explanation.

Thanks for the reply. Hope this helps.

Are you referring to the "4" wires under the retainer washer? I believe those are four ends of only two wires. Here's how it works: Two wires go from the magneto plate to the kill button. As they go there, they are secured by that retainer washer to keep them orderly.

I can see now these wires are the remnants of the old wires I just replaced. Duh! Thanks much, Ron
