"When attempting to start, as soon as the key is turned to the auxillary position, the sound of a loud piercing air horn goes off and it will not crank. Any ideas on what may be causing the problem?"

Souns to me like the bendix is not engaging. Look at the starter when attempting to start and see if the gear is going up and engaging the flywheel. It may need a little squirt of CRC.

"I assume that you're saying that the electric starter does not turn the engine over (crank). If so, check the battery voltage, clean all related cable terminal ends and the component they connect to, tighten those connections with a wrench or pliers (not fingers if wing nuts). When done, check voltage at solenoid and starter.

To test starter, with a known good fully charged battery, run known good battery cables directly to the electric starter. Let us know what you find.

Thousands of parts in my remaining stock. Not able to list them all. Let me know what you need and I'll look it up for you. Visit my eBay store at:

"Forgot to mention. That loud air horn? Probably a electrical overheat warning horn gone faulty or wired incorrectly. On that model, it is usually located within the control box."
