Hey guys,
I have the above motor on a 1972 Glastron V153. Had it out on it's maiden voyage on the weekend and its VERY slow.
Top speed and off the line is just very very sluggish. The throttle is opening all the way, verified with the cover off on the water. It starts, runs and idles fine....
All I could get was 15mph out of it. I'm new to boating, but have been a snowmobiler for years and it seems almost like a sled with too tall gearing and the wrong clutching. Seems like it should be making more RPM at WOT but with no tach and no experience with this motor, I'm not sure. Maybe the prop? But it's the original prop and the previous owner (my cousin) said it was actually quite peppy, so... I dunno.
Any ideas?
