1972. Johnson 25 HP Carb Kit. Question

I am putting. A new carb kit in my 25R72R and none of the kits has the low speed needle valve bushing like the old kits have so what do i. Use in it place? Is it the metal piece with the opening inside ehere the needle valve would slide inside it then put a packing washer on each side of it?. I tried using only the packing washers and the outside gasket and it still seems to suck air. That bushing is not in the kits anymore. What do i do there??

There is a small white or transparent bushing that the tip of the slow speed needle valve rides on... and a large RED one that sits in a machined hole in the face of the carburetor that is a tight fit and keeps the needle valve from moving due to vibration.

I assume you're speaking of the RED one. Your dealership can provide one for you.
