1972 Evinrude sportwin 9.9 HP

I have recently got a 1972 Evinrude 9.9 HP. I wonder if I can fit an emergency kill switch on this outboard engin. Thanks for the help.

Is this a 9.5 or 9,9 HP -----Model # ?

That would be a 9.5 HP.----------You can wire a kill switch up to that motor.---Just splice into the existing stop switch.

If the stop switch you have needs to be closed (shorted) to run then wire the above part in normally closed as well.
You will need to replace your current stop switch with this or similar part or cut a wire and attach the above to the cut ends, and mount it somewhere appropriate.

Stop switch is normally " open " on that motor to run.
