Doing some more research on my motor running rough after several WOT runs.
DO I have the slow feature on my motor? I have the 113-8362 pulse pack. I runs good for 30 minutes then boggs down and won't let me run over 2500 RPM's. It has done this now on 8 test runs. Sounds like the slow feature is kicking in on heat. Today the motor felt a little hottter than previous tests but I ran alot further today. I could put my hand on the flywheel for 4 to 5 seconds. I don't think it is overheating.
I have two wires coming out of the crank case for cooling (1 tan and 1 purple/yellow) and 1 for the thermostat on #3 cylinder tan color. Can I disconnect one of these to release the slow feature so I can test it. My warning horn works but has not sounded.
My sons friend's dad helped me replace the impeller. He said it didn't matter how it was placed in the housing because it will turn its self around if it is backwards. When I ask him if he was sure he said "positive". I have done a thousand of these (mercury mechanic). Does it make a difference?
Please help..
