Electric shift was limted to 71 and 72 for that model.

"Help! i have a 1971 Johnson 60 hp Selectric shift that does not fully go in to reverse. Itwill engage at low idle but any increase in RPM will cause it to rake gears. The last time out the forward gear seemed to slip but then was OK.
After some of the posts about the switch I checked it for contact and voltage which were OK.
I had the lower unit rebuilt about 4 yrs. ago and it has worked well until now.
Any help anyone can give is appreciateed.
