I am trying to determine how badly I messed up my 80hp merc by tearing it apart.
I am at the point now of taking off the crank shaft and pistons.
There are two philips screws holding the crankshaft in place and they will not come loose.
I've tried an impact tool but broke the bit!
I am apprehensive about using heat.
I have not tried removing them in a clockwise turn for fear of snapping off the heads.
Has anyone out there run into this before??
If so, please let me know the solution.
