Does it run ?--------------Has it had the coils replaced ?---Has waterpump been replaced?--------It will need that work.----Scary to have that done at a shop.---Picked motors like that up for nothing or less than a case of coors.

Do you think the coils and impeller are cracked or in bad shape from sitting for so long It was stored in doors for all those years

Every one of those motors that I see today have new coils or they need a set !-------It will need a new rubber impeller too.

Doesn't matter. It is years that counts. The plastics and rubbers deteriorate over time. Besides, if that motor truly is unused, it would be foolish to risk running it with a 46 year old water pump impeller and risk burning that jewel of a motor up.

I did fire it up and it ran great and pumped water but I think it would be wise to pull the impeller for new one. I don't believe there is a gasket to remove

On most old evinrude or Johnson motors with coil and points I have found the coils to be cracked on the outside but still run well
