HI IM NEW HERE AND NEW TO BOAT

HI IM NEW HERE AND NEW TO BOATING I JUST BOUGHT A 1963 UNIFLIGHT WITH A 60 HP EVENRUDE HAD SET FOR A COUPLE YEARS TOOK IT OUT TODAY FIRST TIME IT RAN JUST LONG ENOUGH TO GET ALMOST TO THE END OF THE NO WAKE ZONE SO I DID NOT GET TO OPEN HER UP SHE JUST QUIT ON ME I THOUGHT IT WAS FLOODED BUT WHEN I GOT HOME THERE IS NO SPARK PLEASE HELP ME GET BACK IN THE WATER O YEA I DID NOT HIT ANYTHING AND THE SHERE PINN IS NOT BROKE PLEASE HELP ME

"so i started poking around and did not really find anthing wrong i could not get spark then i thought i would try pulling a plug to see if i could see spark on the flush plug and did not see any thing so i took a regular plug and stuck in the wire and tryed it to see if i could see spark and then turned it over and it tried to fire on me so i put the plugs back in and it started up any body have a sugguston as to why or what the problem could be im stumped

when inspecting the anti reversing spring what do check for it moves side to side easy is that normal like i said not much experince with boat engines

"is there anything else to check before i take it out i changed plugs checked the points and clesned and set them at 10 thos. there was a little rust on the fly wheel cleand it with some light emery cloth the reverse spring seems to slide back and forth easy but dont know exactly what to look for if it was bad any sugustions on any thing i over looked any help vary helpful to me thankyou paul
