Hello all.I have a 1970 johnson 60hp model 60esl70d that has been giving me fits. i have at this point rebuilt the carbs, new fuel pump, and even pulled the power head to see if my seafoam treatment last fall blocked the exhaust with a big chunk of carbon or something to that effect ( mechanic suggestion) anyway after reading countless post's
I feel at this point I need to either change the amp to a newer cdi amp and coil or go the way of the MSD conversion.
I use this boat for fishing and have a small kicker i use for trolling(6hp johnson) and while I am trolling around i have a fishfinder running off the main battery (Deep cell marine) which i have heard could be a problem in itself. (as these ignition systems are temporamental )
anyway i have heard that the MSD conversion is pretty bullet proof and just think it might be my best way to go , and although i have seen it described i have no visual perspective of the proper way to do it (PICTURES or a diagram)any help would be great
