1970 70horse serial issue

"I recently brought a boat with a 70horse chrysler, went i went to order parts a looked a the engine tag and it say 707BE, and after talking to guys at parts stores and checking on here i found out that the closes thing is 707HE so i have a feeling that the factory messed up has anyone seen anything like this before?"

"Joe, your model number is fine. If you have a good dig around you may find the sticker/plate that tells you it's a Canadian built motor.

The "B" indicates that it was built at Chrysler's Barrie Ontario plant - the model is otherwise identical to the 707HE (1972 long shaft)"
