1969 85hp V4 Johnson - No Reverse

Hi,
I just replaced my lower unit on this motor. The mechanic simply mounted it to my motor and it works fine, with the exception of the shift.

The motor is stuck in forward, so I have no reverse.

I could ask my mechanic (and I will) but he is gone until next Monday.
So, in the meantime, my question is the following: is there a simple way I can check if he locked the shift to forward?

I remembered he talked about that at a certain point, because the old lower unit had a shift problem. To my knowledge the magnets are ok.

Is it possible that simply something is unplugged?

check and see if any of the wiring going to the remote controller is not connected, your motor will stay in fwd until you shift it. one of the big boys will be by soon to help you out I don't know a lot about the electric shift motors, only to check for loose wiring...

I will double check this with more care and see if I can find something not in place.

I wasn't able to find anything disconnected... Anyone has any idea?
