"I JUST FIX MY NO SPARK PROBLE

"I JUST FIX MY NO SPARK PROBLEM, IT WAS THE WIRES TO THE POINTS DRY ROTTED. BUT I STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM THAT IT WONT TURN OFF. I READ IN THE MANUAL ABOUT A DOIDE ACROSS THE START SWITCH FAILS AND CAUSES THIS PROBLEM. DOES ANYBODY NO THE RATING OF THIS DIODE AND CAN I REPLACE IT WITH A STANDARD ELECT. DIODE. AND HOW DO I CHECK IT. BY THE WAY, ITS A ELECT. SHIFT"

"A regular two wire diode capa

"A regular two wire diode capable of handling 12 volts should be between the "I" terminal of the ignition switch and the voltage input terminal of the shift switch.

It must be aligned so that voltage can flow FROM the "I" terminal to the shift switch only, NOT vice versa.

If you're using a switch that does not have the "I" terminal, the diode must be connected to whatever terminal is applying voltage to the pulsepack when the key is in the ON or START position.

Note.... Do not type in all CAPS. It's hard to read and is considered SHOUTING."
