THANKS AHEAD OF TIME FOR ANY AND ALL HELP... WE HAVE NEVER HAD A BOAT BEFORE SO PLEASE BARE WITH ME. WE HAVE A 1969 JOHNSON 85 HYDRO ELEC. DRIVE.
THE PROBLEM WE ARE HAVING IS... WE DON'T KNOW IF TO LOWER THE MOTOR WE HAVE TO DO IT MANUALLY OR IF IT LOWERS WHEN WE START THE MOTOR ? IF IT HAS TO LOWERED MANUALLY HOW DO WE DO THET. WE SEE THERE ARE TWO SPRINGS UNDER THE MOTER WITH A METAL PLATE THAT IS HELD IN PLACE...THATS ALL WE KNOW. PLEASE HELP WITH THIS PROBLEM.I HAVE SEARCHED EVERYWHERE FOR A PIC. TO HELP

50 to 1 on the mix and there is a lever that you have to flip for the motor to tilt on the front just above the clamp that holds it to the boat. Lever flips from either left to right or right to left.
