"I removed the nut shear pin and washer which brings me to my questions about how to best get the prop from the shaft. I have read the service manual and know that the directions say to turn the prop 1/4 turn to allign hole with the removal slot while securing shaft. Any help with how to secure the shaft without damage? Have used PB penetrating oil to no avail at prop hub to shaft. Have tried tapping (as apposed to a good beating) Looks like the next step should be apply heat? or is there some kind of puller I don't know about? How much heat is too much and will this rusult in compromising the rubber in the hub and the need for new prop? Any suggestions for getting that bad boy off???
Thank you,
Bob"

"Heat usually does not work here. You can't get the tube inside the rubber bushing hot enough until after the bushing has been destroyed.

A puller is not supposed to be necessary, but there are a few prop pullers on the market. You usually need a puller on inboards."
