1968 Evinrude 6 hp Reed Valve issues

I am trying to find information/diagrams so I can check/replace my reed valves. Can someone please point me in the right direction.

I was told to check them because I have gas dripping from the choke. They said I may have a leaky reed

Possible but highly unlikely. Personally, I'd have to have a darn good reason to go exploring in the reeds

Take the carburetor and have a look at them.----But I agree there likely is no need to replace them.-----If water sat in there then of course all bets are off.

As everyone has indicated, gas dripping from the carb likely has nothing to do with the reeds on that motor. Reed valves are normally quite trouble free. Better rebuild or at least clean the carb. Do you use ethanol fuel, or was it stored with ethanol fuel?
